Cardiologists at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) have sounded the alarm over a worrying rise in heart attacks among young Pakistanis nearly half of patients are under 49, and 15% are under 40. Dr. Abdul Hakeem links this trend to increasing rates of diabetes, hypertension, obesity, smoking, and unhealthy lifestyles, warning that vague symptoms and cultural factors often delay diagnosis. Experts urge regular heart check-ups from age 30, and immediate ECGs if experiencing chest heaviness, acidity-like discomfort, or unusual fatigue, stressing that early detection can save lives and prevent severe complications like stroke.
